Unfortunately, there’s no straightforward answer to this question — it all depends on the nature of your business and marketing campaigns. But as a general rule of thumb, I’d suggest aiming for a minimum of 100 (or ideally 1,000+) searches per month.

To work out a good keyword search volume for your specific business, you’d need to think carefully about your goals and factor in things like whether or not you can rank in position one for it, your average conversion rate, etc.

For example, let’s say you’re running a really niche business selling high-value products or services worth tens of thousands of dollars per sale. Now let’s imagine that, on average, you convert 10% of your organic traffic to paying customers. This means that for every 10 visitors to your site, you make one sale.

In this case, just 10 visitors per month would generate substantial revenue for your business (tens of thousands of dollars). Therefore, relevant keywords with a very small search volume (10-100) are still probably worth targeting if you can rank for them as every bit of traffic is valuable.
